We have built a software application called the DICOM Anonymizing Router (DAR) that lets you send images from your PACS to your account on mypacs.net. The application will automatically anonymize the images and store them in your mypacs.net account.

Installation
The file that contains the DAR application is dar.msi. This contains the DAR software and its prerequisites. DAR can be installed on Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista. If your computer does not have the Microsoft .net Framework 2.0 it will be installed for you. If your computer does not have Microsoft .net Framework 2.0 installed and you do not have administrative access to the computer you will need to consult with your IT Department or system administrator. You do not need to download anything else for this to occur. The following screen shots will guide you through the installation.
- Start with double clicking the DAR.msi file.
- Click next on the first screen.
- Carefully read the license agreement and click I Agree and then Next.
- Select the directory where you would like DAR installed.
- Click Install to proceed with the installation.
- After DAR has been installed you will be given the option to start DAR immediately. If you do not want to start DAR uncheck the box. Exit the installer by clicking Finish. (A Microsoft Windows security alert pop-up may require you unblock the program before using it)
To configure DAR to use your mypacs.net account launch the application and type your mypacs.net username and password into the appropriate boxes. Your username and password will be automatically saved for you. If you do not have a MyPACS.net account click here.

You will also need to configure your PACS to send to DAR. The way to configure your PACS will vary depending on your vendor so if you are not familiar with adding DICOM destinations to your PACS consult your PACS Administrator or vendor. The information needed to configure DAR as a DICOM destination is contained on the main tab. Once your PACS is set up you can initiate a DICOM send to DAR which will then anonymize the files and route the images to MyPACS.net.

The log box will show activity in DAR as well as any errors that occur. The box below the log will show patients, studies and series that have been sent to DAR. Patient names are shown for your use only. DAR does not store this information anywhere or send it to MyPACS.net. All patient information is discarded when you close DAR.
To change the port or AE Title of DAR click the Configuration tab. Make sure you click save to have your changes take effect.

After your DICOM studies have been uploaded, login to MyPACS.net. You will see a Folder named Inbox under the My Home Folder section of the Case Manager page. Open the folder to see the list of cases created by sending DICOM images. Click the case title to view the case. You can add information and addtional images to a case by clicking Edit in the Case Options drop down located in the upper right corner of the viewer. MyPACS arbitraily selects a key image when the DICOM files are received. Please note that MyPACS does not support multi-frame DICOM files.
