MyPACS was made possible by SBIR grant #R44-MH61277 from the National Institute of Mental Health.

We would like to thank the thousands of MyPACS users and contributors who have made MyPACS the largest collaboratively authored international repository of radiology teaching files. We would also like to thank the hundreds of users who have contributed feedback and feature suggestions over the past four years, as well as the hospitals and universities which have supported our educational efforts.

For more information about MyPACS, please see our Publications, or contact us at 1-800-931-2983.

The MyPACS Story
In 1999, Dr. Rex Jakobovits was looking for applications for his biomedical content management toolkit, the Web Interfacing Repository Manager, which he had built while obtaining his Computer Science PhD at the University of Washington. He met Dr. Edward Weinberger, Radiologist at Seattle Children's Hospital and Professor of Radiology, University of Washington, who had developed teaching file authoring software for the Macintosh, and was looking for a way to enable radiologists around the world to create their own electronic teaching file repositories. As a contribution to the radiology community, Dr. Weinberger and Dr. Jakobovits designed a web-based interface for authoring teaching files, MyPACS Version 1, which was presented at RSNA 2000, where it was enthusiastically received.
