never visited 23 WEEK FETAL SURVEY : CONGENITAL ANOMALY

Patient: 20 year old female
History: The examination demonstrates a single fetus in cepahlic presentation.

The extimated gestational age vy multiple parameters is 23 weeks, 1 day.  The estimated date of delivery is November 9, 2006.

Estimated fetal wt. 561 grams.

There is good activity of fetus demonstrated.

The brain structures and spine are unremarkable in appearance.

The heart demonstrates a large atrial septal defect and the left ventricle appears to be small in size when compared to the right.  The heart rate is regular at 153 beats per minute.

The stomach, kidneys and urinary bladder were demonstrated and are unremarkable.

The right and left arms are abnormal with only a short segment of soft tissue demonstrated on both sides.

Facial structures are unremarkable in appearance.

There is a normal amount of anmiotic fluid demonstrated.

The placenta is anterior and there is no evidence of placenta previa.

Findings: 23 weeks, 2 day gestational age pregnancy in cephalic presentation, as described int he U/S findings.  Congenital abnormailites in both upper limbs with only a short segment of the arm seen bilaterally.  In addition, there appear to be congenital abnormailities in the heart of the fetus.
Discussion: Please note.
The mother had severe abnormalities regarding her upper extremities.  The mother also had a 5 year old son presenting with the same visible upper extremity defects.
